Finding the right face serum for your specific skin type and concerns can be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. After all, there are literally tens upon tens of options on the market that promise to refine pores, smooth wrinkles, and add hydration at the same time that, frankly, often come up short of expectations. But Farmacy, known for its TikTok viral cleansing balms and soothing, honey-infused moisturizers, consistently delivers new and exciting innovations, including its latest—the Honey Glow 17% Resurfacing Acid Serum ($60).
Those familiar with the brand know that its products feature farm-sourced ingredients (think honey, apples, and greens), balancing responsible sourcing with efficacy as well as sustainability-forward production and packaging strategies. Farmacy’s newest serum follows those practices, as it promises to even texture, reduce pore visibility, and exfoliate, all while boosting hydration for an enviable glow. But does it deliver? Keep reading to learn more about Farmacy’s new serum—launching January 1— and hear my honest review.
Farmacy Honey Glow 17% Resurfacing Acid Serum $60.00
The Formula
This night serum harnessed the power of a 17% AHA/BHA blend, with additional skincare hero ingredients like glycolic, lactic, salicylic, tartaric, and succinic acids to gently exfoliate. The goal? Even skin texture, decongest pores, minimize the appearance of wrinkles, and reduce dullness by promoting skin cell turnover (aka the process of exfoliating dead skin cells to reveal healthy, new ones).
A proprietary buckwheat honey blend hydrates and soothes alongside moisture-attracting and retaining hyaluronic acid to round out the formula. As part of Farmacy’s DNA and continued commitment to sustainability, the new serum features upcycled prickly pear to help soothe skin, is housed in a sustainable, mono-material pump, and is formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, gluten, or fragrances.
How to Apply
Farmacy recommends applying the Honey Glow 17% Resurfacing Acid Serum to the skin nightly after cleansing, avoiding contact with the eyes, and following up with the Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer ($48) to lock in moisture post-exfoliation. In the morning, wash your face and continue your routine as normal, making sure to apply SPF.
My Review
Abby Dupes, associate editor
“As a beauty editor, when I find a treatment that truly works, I hold onto that product for dear life. Farmacy’s Honey Glow 17% Resurfacing Acid Serum promises to show results within five nights, and it more than delivers. Let me give you a current state of affairs on my skin: My typically dehydrated and dull complexion has been experiencing a string of stubborn breakouts on the cheeks.
Eager to get my glow on and say goodbye to this acne flare, I dutifully followed Farmacy's instructions, applying every night before bed after cleansing. In the past, I've found products formulated with AHAs/BHAs to be unbearably stingy, but this serum didn't feel uncomfortable at all—more like a subtle tingling that went away after a few minutes. After just one night, I saw a difference. Where there once had been dry patches, there was now even, glowy skin.
Five days have passed, and I can happily say the serum calmed the redness and puffiness I was feeling in that area. This serum has more than earned a spot in my winter skincare rotation with its gentle yet oh-so-effective work ethic.”
