The sun’ll come out tomorrowwwww—as long as Keke Palmer is around and showing off a new hairstyle, at least.
Earlier this week, Palmer showed off a brand-new, incredibly curly ginger bob for an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show (the episode airs today, if you want to see this style in action). Another entry into her copper hair diaries, the look showcased her natural hair in all of its curly, bouncy glory. And while the comparison to Annie is so easy to make, rest assured this was an entirely sophisticated, grown-up style.

As it often goes, Palmer’s Instagram comments were full of fans picking up on her inspirations for the look. At the beginning of the month, Aaliyah was on the mood board when she sported medusa bangs and long black layers. This time around, the comparisons all pointed to Whitney Houston, with Jurnee Smollett also chiming in to note that she thought Keke’s post was actually Naomi Campbell for a second.
"You out here serving the children supermodel vibes and I’m here for allll of it!" she wrote.

Falling right at her chin at their very longest, the 31-year-old’s strands were layered so her tight tendrils gave her a halo effect. Extremely vibrant, the copper color is one we’ve seen her rock before. Megan Thee Stallion also gave a similar hue a spin earlier this week, proving it’s one of this season’s hottest (literally, it’s fiery) shades.

There were multiple artists that came together to make the bob what it was. In an Instagram post showcasing the look, Palmer tagged hairstylists Jamika Wilson, who tackled color, and Ricardo Roberts, who did the style,
“I had the pleasure of hanging out and coloring this natural [beauty’s] hair,” Wilson wrote in her own Instagram post.
For its grand premiere, the Nope star complimented her hair with shimmery makeup by Kevin Luong, a black Ferragamo cold shoulder dress, and a light pink manicure. Soon after, she showed it off alongside a more casual outfit, jeans and a tracksuit jacket included.
"I see a little Whitney on these pics," a fan commented on the lowkey images, proving the comparisons never really stop. But despite the resemblances, we know Palmer's in a league all her own.
