Happy hump day, friends! I have a rare mid-week try-on haul for you today! I don’t know why, but I usually post these on Fridays or Saturdays… I guess because the sales are usually best over the weekends. But I’ve been holding onto some of these pictures for quite a while, and I want to get them out to you while they’re still in stock!
This post is a mix of sweaters, jackets, boots, denim, and more! Some pieces are more transitional in nature, and some are winter wardrobe staples to help round out your closet for the season.
As always, I’ll share whether I plan to keep each item—but if it’s a no for me, don’t let that stop you from giving it a try! Sometimes I order things with you in mind, even if they’re not my style. And since I often get asked, I’ll include my thoughts on what’s staying in my closet.
Not every piece will be for everyone, but I’ve included a range of price points to offer a little something for everyone—if nothing else, some winter outfit inspiration to help you shop your closet or favorite retailers. Let’s dive in!
Winter Fashion Finds: Sweaters, Jackets, Boots & Denim
SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 or 30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.
Caslon Rib Turtleneck Sweater
at Nordstrom (S) // similar MOTHER Weekender (29) // UGG Ultra Mini Classic Boot (8)
DETAILS: Feel put together and completely at ease in this wool-enriched ribbed turtleneck sweater that’s a classic to collect in every color. — Nordstrom
- 38% recycled polyester, 33% wool, 26% acrylic, 3% spandex
- Hand wash, dry flat
Let’s start with an amazing bargain buy! This sweater is such a good find—super soft, flattering, and versatile, with an easy fit and a great length (I’d guess around 23″). It comes in a variety of colors and looks sleek untucked, but you can also front tuck it to highlight your waist.
This sweater is perfect for layering but works just as well on its own. Plus, you can’t beat the price! I love this one for casual errands and work-from-home days because I still feel put together, but it’s not so precious that I will cry if I splatter grease on it when making dinner.
VERDICT: Keeping this one, and I’m tempted to order that Grey Medium Heather, but I’m trying to keep to my “no duplicates” rule this year.
Jenni Kayne Grace Crewneck
at Jenni Kayne (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) // similar loafer mules
DETAILS: In our most luxurious cashmere weight yet, the Grace Crewneck is an ultra-elevated knit that looks and feels like a complete dream. Featuring shoulder buttons and bold rib trims, it’s a statement staple you’ll wear on repeat. — Jenni Kayne
- 100% cashmere.
- Hand wash, lay flat to dry.
I ordered this Jenni Kayne sweater during their 40% off sale, and it’s really pretty—but the neckline feels a bit high and choky, and it’s not my best color. That said, the shoulder buttons and bold ribbed trims are lovely details, and the thick, luxurious cashmere knit looks and feels amazing.
VERDICT: Since it was a Final Sale purchase, I’m keeping it, but if I’d paid full price and had the option, I’d probably return it. Lesson learned: Don’t take chances on a Final Sale item unless you are sure you’ll love it.
Harriett Roll Neck Pullover
at Evereve (S) // Pistola Krista Ankle Flare (29) // adidas Handball Spezial (8)
DETAILS: Versatile and stylish, the Harriett sweater by EVEREVE is crafted in a cotton knit and features a relaxed silhouette with a rolled collar, wide ribbed trim, and raglan sleeves. — Evereve
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 23 1/2″
- Material: 100% Cotton Knit
- Care: Hand wash cold, dry flat, use non-chlorine bleach
I thought this could be a nice transitional sweater as we head into spring, since it’s a cotton knit. I also thought some of you in warmer regions might like it for a “winter” sweater. But it came up short for me. The fabric is kind of rigid and rough against the skin, and it sits awkwardly at the waist.
VERDICT: This sweater has pretty details, and it might work for some of you, but… It’s a no for me, dawg.
LOFT Collared Sweater Jacket in Parisian Red
at LOFT (S) // PAIGE Leenah (29) // Vince Silvana (8)
DETAILS: In an extra soft cotton knit, this sweater jacket polishes with flap chest pockets and a modern hue. Point collar. Long sleeves. Button front. — LOFT
- Fit: Slim — streamlined to fit close to the body length
- Length: 21 1/2″ long
- Material: 78% Cotton 19% Nylon 3% Spandex
- Care: Machine Washable
I’ve already featured this sweater jacket in other colors, but this cheery red caught my eye, especially with Valentine’s Day approaching, so I thought I’d order it so I could show it to you all. It’s a pretty sweater, but the chest flap pockets don’t really stay in place. Maybe they just need a good steam iron.
Other than that, I like the fit and the contrasting buttons, and it runs true to size. I feel like this would be a really nice piece for those who need work wear, and it can also be worn with jean for an effortlessly polished everyday look.
VERDICT: I have this in the burgundy, and I haven’t worn it yet, so I don’t really need another one, but I would definitely check it out if you like the looks of it! I feel like it’s better quality than most of the LOFT sweaters I’ve tried lately.
Talbots Cashmere Cable Knit Flare Cuff Sweater
at Talbots (S) // similar MOTHER Weekend Fray (29)
DETAILS: Of-the-moment flare sleeves add the perfect touch of glam to this ultra-soft cashmere sweater. Crafted in a stunning cable knit texture with an elegant mockneck. A soft and luxe addition to your closet. — Talbots
- Fit: Misses: 22″; Petite: 21 1/2″; Plus: 25″
- Material: 100% Cashmere
- Care: Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry; or dry clean.
I’m so bummed this sweater is back to full price! It was on major sale when I ordered mine, and it went down even lower last week. I should have called it out to you before now. It’s really a gorgeous cashmere knit; I love the cable knit pattern, subtle flared sleeve, and flattering 22″ length—at least, it’s flattering on me. Every woman needs to find her own “sweet spot length” for tops.
I also think this Rich Burgundy is so pretty. I initially threw it on with my MOTHER Weekend Fray, but then I thought it would look nice with a darker denim wash, so I pulled the PAIGE Leenah trouser jeans out of the back of my closet. (More on those below.) I also like it with the grey MOTHER Weekend Flare.
VERDICT: Keeping, I already wore it once!
Rails Caterina Luxe Linen Blouse
at Evereve (S) // MOTHER Weekend in Wanted! (29) // Franco Sarto Vianca (8)
DETAILS: Crafted in a lightweight linen blend, this striped blouse by Rails features a flowy silhouette, split tie neckline, and puff sleeves with smocked cuffs and pleated detailing. — Evereve
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 25 3/4″
- Material: 55% Linen, 45% EcoVero Woven
- Care: hand wash, hang to dry, do not bleach, iron low
I ordered this top from Evereve. I often do well with Rails, and I was drawn to the muted grey and ivory stripes in this linen top, but it’s so thin. Also, it’s probably a little too boho for my personal taste. I’m always drawn to these poet style tops but they don’t really feel like me, if that makes sense. I think this one would work except for the smocked cuffs and pleated detailing on the sleeves. That puts it over the top for me.
Also, I’m never sure how to style them. It’s a little long and sloppy left untucked, but when I front tuck it, the back of it looks like this…
I’m not into the full tuck, especially with anything blousy. It does nothing for me. So. This is probably going back, but it’s cute. Maybe it will work for one of you!
VERDICT: Returning.
Rails Theron Sailor Stripe Terry Sweatshirt
at Evereve (S) // FRAME Le High Rise Straight (29) // Sam Edelman Marilyn (8.5)
DETAILS: Stay cozy in the Theron Sailor Stripe Terry Sweatshirt from Rails, featuring a crew neckline, contrasting ribbed cuffs and hems, and a relaxed silhouette. — Evereve
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22 1/4″
- Material: 96% Cotton, 4% Spandex Terry Knit
- Care: hand wash, wash cold, dry flat
This is another Evereve find from Rails, and I think this is so cute as we head into spring. It’s a terry cloth fabric, which is thicker than I anticipated, but that makes it really nice for our chilly Philly spring weather. I know, it’s still the dead of winter, but this top (and the one above) seem more transitional to me.
I’ve struggled to style dark wash jeans without feeling frumpy, but I think pairing them with a nautical navy stripe top looks fresh and très French-girl chic (a term my daughters despise, haha!)
On the flip side, it is pricey for what it is, and I probably wouldn’t start wearing it until closer to spring, so…
VERDICT: I think I’m sending it back. I like it, but I don’t love it, and there will be so many more cute transitional tops to hit the stores before I start wearing them.
Talbots Royal Stripe Ribbed Henley Tee in Indigo-Ivory
at Talbots (S) // PAIGE Leenah (29) // Franco Sarto Vianca (8)
DETAILS: A polished essential. Our ribbed Henley tee is the ultimate layering piece. Crafted from a soft cotton blend with a flattering v-neck and a button placket. — Talbots
- Fit: Misses: 24″; Petite: 23″; Plus: 26″; Plus Petite: 24 1/2″
- Material: 57% Cotton, 38% Modal, 5% Spandex
- Care: Turn garment inside out, machine wash cold, tumble dry low.
Speaking of French-girl chic… I thought this stripe henley might make a nice layering piece, but I didn’t see that it has puff sleeves. 😱 It’s also too long for me to wear untucked. (My sweet spot length is 22-23″, and this is 24″. Isn’t it amazing how that extra inch makes all the difference?) Plus, form-fitting stripe shirts never lay right in the chestage area, ifyouknowwhatImean…
VERDICT: This one is going right back.
Talbots Twill Jacket in Indigo
at Talbots (6) // Talbots henley (S) // PAIGE Leenah (29) // Franco Sarto Vianca (8)
DETAILS: Our fabulous jacket in looks-good, feels-good twill. Crafted with easy button front closures and button patch pockets. A polished yet functional layering piece. — Talbots
- Fit: Misses: 20″; Petite: 19 1/2″; Plus: 23″; Plus Petite: 21 1/2″
- Material: 98% Cotton, 2% Spandex; Lining: 100% Polyester
- Care: Machine wash cold; tumble dry low.
This jacket is the piece that inspired my Talbots order. I enjoyed their beige twill crop jacket so much last fall, so I thought this navy one might be nice to have, but it’s not as stretchy and comfortable. The fabric is actually rather thick and structured, but there is a decent amount of stretch, and once I had it on, it was more comfortable than I anticipated.
It felt like a lot going on with the 5-button front and the stripe henley shirt, so I swapped the stripe top out for my trusty The Reset Too Good Tank, and I added red slingback pumps for fun.
I actually kind of like this look. I feel like it’s a grown-up version of Jo-Lynne. The navy jacket with dark wash jeans works surprisingly well together, and I rather like the tone-on-tone look. The ivory sweater brightens it up a bit and keeps it simple, and the red pumps are a fun surprise to anchor the look.
I just don’t know if I would actually wear it… it’s a tad conservative for my taste. I might wear it to church, but I don’t see myself wearing this out to dinner with Paul or my girlfriends, which is basically all I do for fun these days.
And because I know someone will ask, yes, I can button this jacket, but barely. Would I wear it this way? Probably not, but it does button fairly comfortably. I tried the size 8, and it was too big all over. I would rather it look right unbuttoned, and it fits fine through the shoulders and arms in the size 6.
VERDICT: I feel the same about this jacket as I do about the Rails stripe terry cloth pullover. It’s cute, and I like it, but I don’t loooooove it, and there’s a lot of winter left before I start wearing transition styles. Talbots’ short return window makes me hesitant to keep it, in case I don’t end up wearing it.
KUT from the Kloth Yara Faux Suede Jacket
at Nordstrom (M) // The Reset Too Good Tank (S) // PAIGE Leenah (29) // Sam Edelman Bianka (8.5)
DETAILS: Add a pop of rugged plush to your casual look with an easygoing jacket cut from luxe faux suede. — Nordstrom
- 22″ length
- 91% polyester, 9% spandex
- Hand wash, line dry
I like this jacket a lot—the style is slightly more casual than the navy one up above, and the faux suede is more wintry so I could start wearing it now. I just threw it on with the same outfit as I had on before, but I would like to try other styling options. It would look nice over a printed blouse, if you have some of those. (I don’t at the moment…but I should probably remedy that.)
VERDICT: This is a good one! The quality is nice, and it seems versatile. Since Nordstrom has a longer return window, I’m going to hold onto it and play around with it a bit more before I make my final decision.
KUT from the Kloth Josalyn Twill Trucker Jacket in Eggplant
at Nordstrom (M) // KUT Meg Utility w Raw Hem (6) // Franco Sarto Vianca (8)
DETAILS: Made from soft stretch twill, this slightly cropped trucker jacket is casually sophisticated with its deep eggplant hue and vintage-inspired buttons.
- 21 1/2″ length
- 49% cotton, 48% lyocell, 3% spandex
- Hand wash, line dry
Yep, another KUT from the Kloth jacket! I noticed some new ones pop up on the Nordstrom website, and good jackets always sell out, so I ordered them all to try and report back to you. This one is twill, rather than faux suede, and it’s lighter weight than the Talbots one, so definitely more of a transitional piece. And the eggplant color looks more like fall than spring to me, so I don’t see myself keeping it, but I do really like it. If you have a milder winter than I do, you may want to grab it!
PAIGE Leenah 32″ Wide Leg Jean in Sagrada
at Nordstrom (29) // at paige.com // KUT Yara (M) // Sam Edelman Bianka (8.5)
DETAILS: Refresh your denim collection with stretchy, vintage-inspired jeans featuring a chic bow-leg shape, a dark wash and floor-grazing hems. — Nordstrom
- 32″ inseam; 22″ leg opening; 10 3/4″ front rise
- 93% cotton, 5% polyester, 2% spandex
- Machine wash, tumble dry
I wanted to share more info on these since I’m wearing them with some of the outfits in this post. They’re one of the only wide leg styles I’ve found that I really and truly love the fit—I already have them in black and white—so I went looking for a blue pair last fall, and I bought these on their 30% off Labor Day Sale. (The Praline wash is the closest to my Sagrada, which is sold out.) I just recently got around to having them hemmed so I can wear them with the low heels I currently have in my closet!
I really like the trouser-style hem and this inky dark blue wash with the light whiskering at the hip. They’re more polished than most of my other blue denim, and of course, darker washes are trending. My only complaint is those giant back pockets. I don’t know, they seem a little large and in charge, but the placement looks good, so they’re not a deal breaker.
KUT from the Kloth Meg Utility w Raw Hem
at Evereve (6) // Michael Stars Tati Ultra Rib Top (M) // Franco Sarto Vianca (8)
DETAILS: Front patch pockets add a polished, utility-inspired feel to the most-loved Meg jean by KUT from the Kloth. Perfect for day-to-night wear, these wide leg jeans feature back darting details, full-length raw hems, and soft stretch denim in a grey wash.
- Front Rise: 10 1/2″; Inseam Length: 29″; Leg Opening: 23″
- Material: 91% Cotton, 7% Recycled Polyester, 2% Elastane Denim
- Care: machine wash, wash cold, tumble dry low
Since I’m loving the comeback of grey denim, I thought I’d try a wide leg style. I’m already a fan of the KUT Meg, and I like the addition of the utility-inspired front patch pockets. The fabric is soft and stretchy, and very comfortable. If anything, these run even bigger than most KUT from the Kloth jeans, as the size 6 is a little roomy on me.
As I looked back through all my pictures from last year, I noticed that I only really like myself in wide leg jeans with more fitted tops, so I went to my closet and grabbed this Michael Stars rib top. I feel like it looks good with them, but of course, it’s winter and I would need a layer. I don’t have a lot of slim-fitting sweaters right now; I haven’t bought any this season, and I got rid of some because I’m self-conscious about my midlife-middle.
All that to say, I need to play around with these a bit more and see what styling options I can come up with, but I think they’re really cute!
VERDICT: I’m going to hold onto them for a bit, but Evereve has a 30-day return policy, so I need to decide fast.
FRAME Le High Rise Straight in DANTE
at Nordstrom (29) // Rails Theron (S) // Sam Edelman Marilyn (8) // Paul Green Hadley (8)
DETAILS: Look as good as you feel in these ankle jeans designed with shapely stretch in a classic wash.
- 27″ inseam; 14 1/2″ leg opening; 11″ front rise
- 63% organic cotton, 27% cotton, 5% recycled polyester, 5% elastane
- Machine wash, dry flat
These were on sale for over 50% off for a few days during the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale, but evidently they’re back to full price. I grabbed them because I’m always looking for a good pair of slim straight ankle jeans, and I feel like I’m going to want a dark wash pair as we head into spring, but I’m conflicted on these.
I really like the wash, and in general, I like the dimensions, but I don’t love the fit. I ordered the 29 and 30, and even the 29 feels a little big, and they feel long in the crotch area, even though I often wear an 11″ rise, so I don’t think that’s the issue.
Maybe I just need to size down, I dunno, but they weren’t comfortable, even though I think they look nice. And I’m also not sure about this length; the AG Mari is a 2 inches longer, and I’m getting used to that look, so maybe I need to order those in a dark blue wash.
VERDICT: I don’t know, I guess I need to try them again; sometimes I’m just having an off day, and I feel differently about something when I revisit it a few days later.
MOTHER Mid Rise Dazzler Flood Fray in What’s Your Sign
at MOTHER Denim (29) // Rails Theron (S) // Paul Green Hadley
DETAILS: Starstruck. A mid-rise straight leg with a 28.25-inch inseam and a frayed hem. Cut from a cotton blend, What’s Your Sign is a mid-blue wash with whiskering and fading at the knee.
- 9 3/4″ Rise; 28 1/4″ Inseam; 13″ Leg Opening
- Materials: 78% Cotton; 16% Modal; 4% Polyester; 2% Elastane
- Care: Machine wash, tumble dry
You’ve seen these, but I pulled them out to compare to the FRAME pair. I haven’t worn them yet, or maybe I wore them once? They’re a little snug, for one thing; I wish I’d ordered the size 30 to compare. But I’ve struggled with the wash feeling frumpy to me. It’s not as dark as the FRAME, but it’s darker than most of the other jeans in my closet. I do like them a lot with this stripe top, though. I feel like I might gravitate more to dark washes this spring than I do in the winter.
These have a 28″ inseam, so they are an inch longer than the FRAME pair and an inch shorter than the AG Mari. I feel like this is the perfect ankle-length for me, and also that raw hem always looks a little better to my eye, even though I would rather have a finished hem pair right now b/c I feel like it’s more current. All that to say, I already own these so I probably don’t need the FRAME pair (or the AG Mari; I should just wear these.)
But if YOU are trying to find a pair of dark blue slim straight ankle jeans, either of these are a good choice. I think you just have to try and see which works better for you.
VERDICT: I own them; the return window is passed, so I just need to start wearing them!
MOTHER The Rider Mid Rise Ankle Straight Leg Jeans in Wish On A Star
33% off at Nordstrom (30) // Rails Theron (S) // Paul Green Hadley
DETAILS: A clean look for all your casual outfits, these stretchy jeans are made in Los Angeles with a mid-rise waist and slim-cut, ankle-grazing straight legs.
- 28″ inseam; 14″ leg opening; 11″ front rise; 13″ back rise (size 29)
- 94% cotton, 5% polyester, 1% elastane
- Dry clean or machine wash, tumble dry
I accidentally ordered these, thinking they were the Dazzler in a light blue wash with a finished hem, but they’re the Rider, and I’ve already tried these, lol! I am throwing them in here to give you more options, but I returned them because I prefer the slightly slimmer fit of the Dazzler, and I have the raw hem pair in a similar color that I wear all the time.
Pistola Krista Ankle Flare in Vibrant
25% off at Nordstrom (29) // Jenni Kayne Fisherman (S) // adidas Handball Spezial
DETAILS: Easy to work into your casual wardrobe, these low-stretch jeans feature a relaxed fit, cropped legs and hints of lived-in distressing at the edges.
- 29″ inseam; 17″ leg opening; 11″ front rise (size 26)
- 72% cotton, 27% rayon, 1% spandex
- Machine wash, tumble dry
I love my Pistola Lennon boot crop jeans from last fall, and I saw these and thought I’d see how they compare. They’re longer—29″ inseam rather than 27″, so I thought they might be a full length flare I can wear with sneakers, but they’re too short for that. I don’t care for this look. I’d rather them come down over the top of the sneaker.
VERDICT: Returning, but if you are shorter than I am, these might work for you. Or if you are taller and want more of a crop flare.
Franco Sarto Vianca Bootie in Black
at Nordstrom (8) // MOTHER Weekender (29) // FRAME turtleneck (S) // Rowan Vest (S)
DETAILS: A slender square toe and sculpted block heel balance a versatile leather bootie fashioned with a goring side panel for comfortable wear.
- 2″ heel
- 5 1/2″ shaft
- Side zip closure with elastic gore inset
- Leather upper/synthetic lining and sole
My favorite black Chelsea boots sold out, and I hate to link to sold out items, so I ordered these to show you an option. These are really good for the price point. I like the quality, and they’re comfortable, and best of all, they look great with flares.
VERDICT: I will still wear my rag & bone Walker Chelsea Boots, but I’m holding onto these so I can feature more affordable boots with good inventory when I do collabs with Nordstrom or other blog features. If I didn’t have something similar that I love, these would definitely earn a spot in my closet.
Sorel Out N About IV Chillz Waterproof Duck Boot in Black/Chalk
at Nordstrom (8.5) // Vince Cashmere Crew (M) // MOTHER Dazzler (29)
DETAILS: Rain and snow won’t slow your steps in this waterproof duck boot featuring warm insulation and a high-traction sole for slippery surfaces.
- Waterproof
- 6″ shaft
- Cushioned footbed
- 100g insulation
- Leather upper/faux-shearling lining/rubber sole
I love my UGG Adirondacks—they’re lightweight and super comfortable, but they can be a lot of boot for running errands around town, so I wanted to show you guys some other options.
Sorel is amazing at blending style with practicality, and this pair of duck boots is no exception. They’ve got a cozy faux shearling lining, are fully waterproof, and have 100g insulation to keep your feet toasty warm. Plus, I think they’re actually kind of cute. As an aside, if you are self-conscious about having big feet, I think these make them look a lot smaller.
VERDICT: I ended up keeping these because I feel like I might like having an alternative to the UGGs.
SOREL Out N About IV Mid Sneaker
25% off at Zappos (8.5) // Vince Cashmere Crew (M) // MOTHER Dazzler (29)
DETAILS: Greet the rainy days in style with this waterproof sneaker that features a smooth leather upper with suede trim and a sturdy vulcanized-rubber sole.
- Waterproof
- Leather upper/textile lining/rubber sole
If you like more of a sneaker, these are a great option. They definitely feel lighter and more flexible than the duckboots (above) and I like the combination of grey, black, white, and camel. I feel like it covers the gamut, and they will go with everything.
These also come in a few other color ways, and they’re 25% off right now at Zappos! If you prefer a simpler design, the Out N About IV Waterproof Sneaker is a good option too.
VERDICT: I don’t need a pair this similar to the duck boots, so I was planning to send these back, but now that I’m looking at these pictures, maybe I should have kept these and returned the others… I’m debating.
Stuart Weitzman Naomi 50 Bootie
at Nordstrom (8) // MOTHER Weekender (29) // similar turtleneck (S) // Rowan Puffer Vest (S)
DETAILS: A pointed toe and low, sculptural block heel frame this versatile pull-on bootie that’s made with a sock-like fit. — Nordstrom
- 1 3/4″ heel; 6 1/2″ shaft
- Leather upper and lining/leather and synthetic sole
- Made in Spain
Okay, so these were a HUGE splurge, but in a weak moment, I used some Nordstrom Notes and grabbed these after seeing So Susie style them 100 times and make them look so fab. Well, guess what? They are fab. Sigh… If you’ve been around for long, you know my love for Stuart Weitzman shoes and boots runs deep. I don’t usually pay full price, but I’ve been watching these for months, and they never go on sale, so I figured my Nordstrom Notes were the next best thing.
They’re definitely a dramatic look, but they are also such good quality and sooo comfortable. I love that low heels are trending and can look super dressy, but they’re also incredibly wearable.
VERDICT: I did keep these; I actually wore them last weekend. They’re perfect for winter date nights and any other time I want to dress up my denim, plus they will look nice with black pants too.
Athleta Rainier Bootcut Pants in Black
50% off at Athleta (M) // Altitude Fleece Lined Jacket (S) // Momentum Seamless Top (M)
Look, ma! I got a new mirror! After years of saying I wanted a mirror I could move around the house so I’m not always standing in that same spot in my bedroom when I take mirror selfies, I finally bit the bullet and ordered this one from Walmart, at the recommendation of my friend Lindsey (The Motherchic).
DETAILS:
- Sits at the natural waist
- Fitted next to the body and flares at the knee
- Inseam: Regular: 30.5″ Plus: 29.5″ Petite: 28.5″ Tall: 33.5″
- Shorter length to fit over your boot and stay dry in the snow
I grabbed these pants on sale after Christmas, and they’re still 50% off, which is an amazing deal for Athleta. These are great for my winter walks, and I’ve even worn them around the house on these cold days. As suggested, I tried wearing them with my new Sorel boots, and they actually work really well together. I like this alternative to jeans for messy days, like we’re having this week.
The bootcut silhouette is really flattering, and they have a nice fit and feel. I can’t imagine using that zipper pocket on the thigh, but it adds a fun detail, and I like the seaming along the outside of the legs.
VERDICT: Keeping! Wore them once already.
And that’s a wrap for this week! If you have any retailers you’d like me to feature in upcoming Try-On Hauls, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do!
